Shutterfly is doing a holiday card promotion where bloggers can get 50 free holiday cards, and I signed up. I like free stuff, and I wanted to do a photo card this year anyway, so it worked out well.
Sending out cards is something that I look foward to! Every year, I try to make our Christmas cards fun and different.
I love Shutterfly and the fact that I don't have to worry about losing my photos from my digital camera or my computer is a plus. Shutterfly makes everything easy for me to store my photos online and share them to family and friends. And the prints are very reasonably priced too!

Glasses

We took Rylan to the pediatric ophthalmologist on Monday and it turns out that his vision is very bad. We had been noticing his left eye crossing for about a month now and turns out the he has something called amblyopia better known as lazy eye. He will have to wear glasses to correct it. We will also have to put drops in his good eye to blur the vision to help correct the lazy eye. The doctor told us that there was no way to tell if the glasses and drops would be a permanent cure but it was certainly a possibility that he wouldn't have to wear them the rest of his life. I am very hopeful that he won't but if he does I am sure that he will wear them beautifully. We took him on Monday to get fitted for them. We also had to order a pair of prescription sunglasses since the drops will be in a sense dilating his good eye so it will be very sensitive to light. Not good for a boy who loves to be outside. Please pray that he adjusts to wearing the glasses and sunglasses well and that mom and dad can remain strict and enforce him to keep them on.

I will save the actual pair of glasses we got for a later post but here is a picture of him modeling a pair.

These two beautiful children are my world. They are so cute when they are together. Words can not describe the love they have for each other. Seeing pictures like these puts a smile on my face.

Spring Festival

Last Saturday after Natalie's t-ball game we went to the Mt. Laurel Spring Festival. Mommy went to do a little shopping while Natalie went to meet Snow White. She was very excited to see her face to face and have her picture made with her. Natalie's picture even made it into a local newspaper ( the Shelby County Reporter) in the lifestyle section.

This weekend we were headed to eat dinner at Cracker Barrel when we drove past a cemetery and Natalie started to ask questions about it. This is a conversation I never want to forget.

The conversation went like this:

Natalie: Mommy...is that heaven?

Me: No Natalie that is a cemetery.

Natalie: Well what's a cemetery?

Me: That's where they bury you when you die.

Natalie: Oh yea. What do they bury?

Me: They bury your body.

Natalie: Ok. Well if that is were they bury your butt then where does your face go?

Me: I said body not butt....you silly girl!

Natalie: No your silly mommy.

Natalie: Well if they bury you then how do we get to heaven to see Jesus?

Me: Your soul goes to heaven.

Natalie: I know where your soul is at...it's under your tummy.

Me: Sure.

And that was the end of the conversation.

These are some pictures from Natalie's 4th birthday party. The party turned out perfect. All the little details made my little ballerina feel very special. Everything was planned out just as she wished and she had a blast.

Snow Day

On Friday we had a wonderful day of snow! Here in Alabama that is very rare. Brandy (Rylan's babysitter) had all the kids at her house so they could enjoy playing in it. I sent my camera with her so she could take pictures since I had to work that morning. Thankfully my boss let me leave at 2:00! I was so glad to get to Brandy's to see the pictures that she took of the kids. Once I picked Natalie and Rylan up we hurried home to play in the snow with daddy and Aunt Meg. It was a day of fun and we were all very sad to see the snow melt.

Natalie was so excited about going to school today because they were having a pajama party. She woke up early to and was ready in no time. Once all the kids arrived at school they were going over to the library to watch The Polar Express and eat popcorn. After that all the kids would head back to the school were they will drink hot chocolate and have a slumber party. Sound like so much fun! Ever since Natalie started dance she has been obsessed. When I started thinking of what to do for her birthday in February I knew right away that a ballerina party would be perfect. Luckily the dance studio where she takes her lessons is available to rent for parties so we booked it right away. I am having way to much fun planning for this party. My baby looks like such a big boy now! I tried letting it grow out but just couldn't take it any longer. He had wings on each side and a mullet look going on in the back. It was definitely going to be curly. Every time the little man would sweat it would kink up and the longer pieces would turn into ringlets. Maybe I will let it grow out during the winter just to see how curly it will be. It was just to wild and unruly during the hot summer.

I took Natalie to the doctor on the 17th for her 3 year old check up. Everything seemed to be fine she has just been complaining with some hip pain since May and and our doctor wanted to run some tests. That did a hip xray and it came back normal- praise the lord! They also took some blood which did not come back normal. I am going to hold off of giving the details until I now all of the exacts but I really need for you to pray for my little girl. She definitely has something going on that has the doctor very concerned. They sent her to Children's South today for more blood work. We may know some of the results as early as today or tomorrow morning and the others we will have to wait 3 days for. I will try and keep everyone updated as soon as I get more information. In the mean time please pray for me to have the strength to handle whatever the outcome may be.

I have been eyeing this outfit for some time now and after finding out today that they would not be getting any more in stock I decide to go ahead and get it for Natalie. I can't wait to try it on her. It will be great for football season, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. I got this precious outfit from one of my favorite shops Fireflies and Fairytales. If you have never been there you should definitely go. They have the cutest baby/kid clothes.

These are some pictures from last Friday which was Rylan's birthday. Both the kids had to go to the doctor that morning. Rylan had to get three shots and Natalie one. They both did great. Rylan weighed almost 21 lbs and was 30 inches tall and Natalie weighed 29 lbs. and was 38 1/8 inches tall.

It is amazing how fast 365 days can fly by. This sweet boy came into the world on July 17th 2008. He was 4 weeks early weighing 7lbs 12 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. He is such a blessing to our family!

We has so much fun this weekend. We started out at Paw paws where we ate some yummy food, went swimming in the river, and let Natalie catch her first fish. After we left there we headed to some friends house for round 2 of the 4th fun. There we ate some more yummy food, played, and watched some beautiful fireworks. Saturday morning we got up early to head down to the river to see Paw paw. We had a blast. Paw paw grilled some yummy hamburgers and hot dogs and we had all the fixings to go with them and then finshed up with some homeade icecream. While we here there daddy took Natalie out on the pier for some fishing. She did great. I was nervous that she would be scared of the fish but not my child she is not scared of anything. She wanted to take the fish home as a pet. Silly girl! She kept saying "mommy isn't he adorable." Here are a few pictures from her first big catch.

This sweet boy is 11 months old today. He made that face as soon as I sat him down in the grass. To funny!

Again, I am just now getting around to posting these pictures. We decided to go to the beach with my parents for Memorial Day weekend. It was alot of fun. Natalie loved the ocean. Four years ago today I married my best friend. I can not believe how fast the 4 years went by. Four years, 2 kids later and we are still very much in love. Our marriage is a testament to how great marriage can be when a couple allows God to be the center of everything. The past 4 years has not been perfect by any stretch of the imagination. We have had our trials and struggles just like everybody else, but we have learned to look past the imperfect parts and noticed the great parts, at the same time working on our imperfections. Here's to many more wonderful years together.

Please pray for my sister. She went to the doctor a couple of months ago and had some test run which came back abnormal. She is having surgery next tuesday 31st. Please keep her in your prayers. She is really scared. I know that God will take care of her. I will try and keep everyone updated on how her surgery goes.

Cupcakes and A-girl

I had the day off Friday for Natalie's birthday so I decided to surprise her and take cupcakes to school to share with her friends. It was so much fun. When I first got to her school Ms. Sky was reading the kids a books so I watched from the door with out her knowing I was there. Natalie was very interested in the book....asking lots of questions and answering them very quickly when the teacher would ask them. It was so funny to hear her answers to the questions the teacher would ask. After they finished with the book I went in the classroom. She was so excited to see me there. She kept telling all of her friends that I was her mommy and that I had brought them cupcakes to eat after lunch. I helped Ms. Sky get out all of the kids to the table and ready to eat their lunches(which was so sweet to see all the little ones sitting at the table together) and then Ms. Sky asked them to bow their heads and say the blessing. Of course Natalie was a little shy at first with me being there but that didn't last long she was singing very loudly before the song was over. It was so cute hearing them all sing this song before they ate.

At then end of the song were you are supposed to say Amen, Amen Natalie decided to say A-Girl, A-Girl. It was to funny! Ms. Sky said that Natalie has never liked saying Amen she is always telling everyone that it was not amen or a-boy that is was supposed to be a-girl. She is very funny like this at home too. Pink is for girls and blue is for boys and she will not play with boy toys and doesn't like for Rylan to play with hers. I love my little girly, girl! I will post some pictures from her birthday party at school soon.
